Electric Vehicle Technical Assurance Operative - South East

We're looking for customer-focused EV technical assurance operatives to mentor and assess the safety and quality of our smart charge point installations.

Octopus Energy Services is a sister company building a field force of engineers and support staff to install smart meters and EV charge points. We work in conjunction with Octopus Electric Vehicles, installing bleeding-edge V2G technology which will form the backbone of renewable energy storage on our future smart grid. We can offer a unique end-to-end experience for our customer; from leasing an EV, through to a smart charge point and meter, all supplied with green electrons from our EV friendly smart tariffs. The role

We are looking for an 18th edition, time served, EV charge point installer to guide and mentor our new team, delivering the best possible EV charge point experience. You'll work closely with our existing team of technical assurance operatives, helping to develop our engineers and our product. You’ll be representing Octopus in customers’ homes  - in many cases, you and the installer will be the first face-to-face contact the customer will have had with Octopus. Expectations are high. You’ll be just as happy talking to customers about the installation as you are about doing the installation itself. You’ll be on-site with installers making sure their work is on-point, offering constructive feedback and mentoring. You will support in demonstrating the new hardware and app to our customers and provide relevant energy efficiency and usage advice.

Requirements:

  • Safety at the forefront of everything you do

  • Excellent people skills and a dynamic approach to your work

  • C&G  Level 3 Electrotechnical Installation 2356

  • C&G  Level 3 Inspection and Testing 2391 -52

  • C&G 2382 18th Edition BS7671

  • C&G 2919 Electric vehicle charging

  • Level 3 NVQ Assessor qualification TQWA/CAVA (or equivalent)

  • A full UK driving licence

  • IT literate

  • The ability to use a handheld terminal

  • A flexible working approach and a desire to create a positive customer experience

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in Domestic dual fuel metering.

  • Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent); MOCoPA - at least Single Phase

​This is what we can offer...

As a reward for providing a safe, positive customer experience during installation, we will pay a competitive package which equates to c£40k p/a based on OTE. This comprises of a base salary, monthly safety and productivity bonuses and an annual loyalty bonus plus a great cycle to work scheme. The working week will be 42.5 hours.

A holiday scheme is included, starting initially at 22 days + Bank Holidays rising annually by 1 day to a max of 25 days. In addition to this, a generous pension scheme will be provided with a 4% employer contribution.

A fully racked vehicle, top quality tools, equipment, branded uniform and PPE will be supplied, with ongoing safety and technical training to ensure that you have everything you need to carry out first-class assessments.

You will be based in your local area and you will be working off the most up to date mobile phone/tablet to speed up the installation process.
