Field Operations Support Coordinator
Smart meters are here. These are energy industry game changers, and we’re buzzing about their
potential. The technology will save UK consumers a lot of time (no more meter readings!) and
with innovative electricity tariffs like Agile Octopus and Octopus Go making the most of the smart
meter tech, potentially a fair bit of dough too.
Who are we and what are we about?
Octopus Energy Services is a brand new sister company of Octopus Energy and we are building
a field force of engineers to install these meters. Octopus Energy has quickly established a
reputation for service excellence, mainly through fast and friendly online operations - achieving a
5-star Trustpilot rating and a Which? Recommended energy supplier award for the last 2 years in
a row. In fact with Affect Energy and M&S Energy (both Octopus Energy sub-brands) 3 of the top
5 positions on Trustpilot for energy supply are taken up with Octopus brands.
Why work with us?
We are a new, exciting and fast-growing business within the Octopus Energy group. Our growing team of engineers are installing smart electricity and gas meters in our customers’ homes and offering fantastic levels of service and support. We’ll also have the backing of Octopus Energy’s massive tech power - so we’ll be able to constantly evolve and shift processes to ensure we’re always delivering our best service.
We’re looking for a highly organised individual to support the on-boarding process of new engineers and day-to-day running of the field operations department. You’ll be helping ensure our engineers have the appropriate level of training, qualifications and soft skills to enable them to deliver the fantastic level of customer experience we expect. You’ll be organised, cool-headed and interested in learning about the inner workings of a field force business. This is a broad and diverse role which will present plenty of interesting challenges for the right person.
Is it you we're looking for?
We are looking for somebody with awesome people skills and a keen eye for detail. The role will
be broad and varied and will evolve over time, with the following key responsibilities:
• On-boarding of new engineers including co-ordination of company inductions
• Manage and monitor accreditation details – both company and individual
• Scheduling training and upskilling for our engineers
• Assisting with HR-related tasks (recruitment, onboarding)
