Team Manager - Field Support

Who are we and what are we about?

Our smart meter programme is the hardware backbone of that innovation. Octopus Energy Services is a sister company building a field force of engineers and support staff to install these meters and is a vital arm (tentacle?) of the business. The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Team Manager to join us in Brighton. You will be responsible for helping to shape, grow and manage a team of field support specialists as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations function.

Responsibilities will include…


  • Managing a team of field support specialists who support a large team of field engineers 

  • Look at the day to day running of the operations function (making appointments, scheduling work with engineers etc)

  • Look at constant improvements of processes and reporting back to our Head of Operations 

  • Create effective reporting to allow decision making

  • Lead internal and external meetings with stakeholders

  • Help support our growth and recruitment 

  • Support employee communication with the management team

  • Support growth and development of individual specialists

  • Provide operational expertise to the teams and constantly look for ways to improve processes


Is it you we’re looking for?

You will need…

  • To be a team player and relationship builder. You have demonstrated the ability to build great working relationships with people across cultures and perspectives

  • To be able to effectively lead and motivate a team - this is key 

  • To be agile. You are positive and proactive, and energised by working in a fast-paced environment characterised by constant change

  • To have experience in management, operations, and leadership

  • To have a high level of adaptability and agility to manage multiple projects at one time (we are growing quickly!) 

  • Energy industry experience desirable but by no means essential! You’ll quickly pick up what you need to know
